


Part A. Questions 1 and 2: Read a text aloud.
Directions: In this part of the test, you will read aloud the text on the screen. You will then seconds to prepare. Then you will have 45 seconds to read the text aloud.

Part B. Question 3: Describe a picture
Directions: In this part of the test, you will describe the picture on your screen in as much detail as you can. You will have 30 seconds to prepare your response. Then you will have 45 seconds to speak about the picture.

Sample Answer:
This is a picture taken outdoors during winter. A girl is making a tall snowman. She is wearing a red knit cap and mittens, a black winter jacket, and brown boots. The snowman looks well-proportioned. An adult may have helped her build the mounds. Now she is just shaping the body with her hands.
The elevated ground she is standing on is all snow. On the edge are some green grass. The snow plain farther down the view seems to be smooth. It could be a body of water like a river or stream, which is maybe strong enough for ice skating. On its bank on the other side, some green grass is also sprouting out of the snow.
Part C. Questions 4-6: Respond to questions
Directions: In this part of the test, you will answer three questions. For each question, begin responding immediately after the question has finished. No preparation time is provided. You will have 15 seconds to respond to Questions 4 and 5 and 30 seconds to respond to Question 6.
Teacher: Imagine that a Swiss Marketing firm is doing research in your country. You have agreed to participate in a telephone interview about sweets and candies.

I check the candy’s ingredients first when I pick up one of them in a store. Since I usually buy them for my kids, I ought to be sensitive to the ingredients. I always try to avoid artificial sweeteners. That’s why I examine the labels on the wrapping paper.
Part D. Question 7-9: Respond to questions using information provided
Directions: In this part of the test, you will answer three questions based on the information provided. You will have 30 seconds to read the information before the questions begin. For each question, begin responding immediately after you hear a beep. No additional preparation time is provided. You will have 15 seconds to respond to Questions 7 and 8 and 30 seconds to respond to Question 9.

What are some of the main events happening at the seminar?
