lưu ý:
- one word only – điền một từ duy nhất. bạn chỉ được phép được điền một từ duy nhất. ví dụ: nếu điền là “a pen” câu trả lời của bạn sẽ là sai, phải viết là “pen”
- one word and/or a number – điền một từ và/ hoặc một số. câu trả lời của bạn có thể là một từ, một số, hoặc một từ và một số. ví dụ: september, hoặc 12th, hoặc 12th september
- no more than two words and/or a number – điền không quá hai từ và/hoặc một số. câu trả lời của bạn có thể là một từ, hai từ và một số. ví dụ: 15 bank road. nếu bạn nhìn thấy dẫn đến thì, phần lớn các câu trả lời đều là hai từ hoặc một số.

trước khi nghe, hãy cố gắng đoán xem câu trả lời sẽ như thế nào. khi đọc câu hỏi bạn sẽ tập trung hơn và dễ có thể được câu trả lời hơn. hãy tự ra câu hỏi như sau:
- subject of the answer? đối tượng là gì (tên, ngày, quốc gia, số,…?)
- what word fits grammatically? – từ nào đúng về mặt ngữ pháp?
- function of the answer? – câu trả lời có vai trò gì?
step 4. nghe thật kỹ
iii. những điều cần lưu ý
- luôn luôn kiểm tra ta thật kỹ chính tả. nếu viết sai chính tả bạn sẽ không được tính điểm. sẽ có nhiều cách đánh vần tên trong bài thi ngoại cách đánh vần từng chữ cái, nên các bạn hãy chú ý nhé.
- thường trong bảng, họ sẽ paraphrase – tức viết lại câu theo một cách khác để chúng ta khó có thể dễ dàng nhận ra câu trả lời đúng, vì vậy các bạn nên mở rộng vốn từ, bằng cách học từ mới trong phần tapescript nhé.
- trong bảng thường sẽ xuất hiện nhiều đáp án gây nhiễu dễ xác định được đáp án chính xác, các bạn hãy chú ý lắng nghe những từ nối như “but”, “however”, “so”,… để nắm được đáp án chính xác nhé.

W: hello. This is Ridley Art Academy Weekly art academy, come in … can I help you with anything?
M: yes, I just moved to town and I am interested in enrolling my child in an art program. So I wanted to see what kinds of classes you offer.
W: wonderful. We have several arts courses for children. If you could give me a few pieces of information first, I’d appreciate it. Could I get your name?
M: Pablo Marquez. That’s spelled M-A-R-Q-U-E-Z
W: and the age of your child?
M: Just turned 10 about four months ago
W: Well, we have a few different courses for that age group. One is introduction to art, which includes painting, drawing, and lots of fun activities. We also offer sculpture workshop, where the children work with different sculpting materials, and history of art, where the children learn a bit about famous artists and art movements.
M:I think that introductory class would be best.
W: Good. Now, we currently have 16 children enrolled in that course. But we have a teacher and two assistants with them at all times.
M: Great. And how much do you charge?
W: Actually, we charge per month. The cost would be 160 £, and you’ll pay at the beginning of each month. But if you enroll for a period of a full year, the rate is only £120 per month.
M: Really? Well, we planned to enroll for a year anyway. Okay, I would like to go ahead is there is space.
W: Absolutely. The classes will start this coming Tuesday.
M: That’s fine. So, that’s February 2nd, right?
W: That’s correct. And payment is accepted by cash, credit cards, or check. Which do you prefer?
M: I’ll pay with my credit card, thanks.
